November 25, 2008

The Møller Centre in Cambridge has won the ‘Training Venue of the Year’ title at one of UK’s most important learning and development events.

The Møller Centre in Cambridge has won the ‘Training Venue of the Year’ title at one of UK’s most important learning and development events. Competing against many other top conference and meetings venues from across the UK, it clinched the award at the prestigious ‘World of Learning 2008’ event last week.

On making the award the judges commented “The Møller Centre demonstrated through external measurement continued development and progression in quality year-on-year through to 2008. It was particularly notable in its well-trained team, which exhibits a clear understanding of clients' briefs and delivery of customer service. The judges were particularly impressed by the understanding the centre's employees showed for what makes the venue successful, as well as the level of support they offer the training industry

Anthony Lishman, Executive Director of Conference Centres of Excellence and a member of the judging panel said: “There is growing recognition within the training sector that specialist conference venues are best suited to optimising the effectiveness of training events.  There can be no doubt that the Moller Centre is at the very forefront of its field, and the judging panel was thoroughly impressed.”

On hearing the news, Gillian Holdom, Director of The Møller Centre said “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. The competition was fierce and the judges demanded very high standards. This award acknowledges our world class training facilities and is a tribute to the professionalism of our staff; the depth of their understanding of the specific needs of our clients and their commitment to delivering exceptional service all day, every day.”

The World of Learning Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony was attended by more than 450 of the UK’s leading learning and development professionals, showcasing how the very best organisations and individuals are supporting the continued professional development of their staff. The award was presented by well-known comedian and satirist Marcus Brigstocke, and accepted by Stuart Websdale, General Manager of The Møller Centre. Stuart commented “Through reinvestment and training, we continually work to improve the quality of our facilities and service, and this award is testament to that process. We are very proud to have won this award.”

Now in their eighth year, the highly competitive awards are acknowledged as the premier event for honouring those involved in learning and development.  Presented in association with the Daily Mail and the British Institute of Learning & Development (BILD), they recognise leading achievements within the industry and are one of the highlights of World of Learning 2008, the UK’s key conference and exhibition for business learning.

"The Møller Centre combines state of the art facilities with world-class customer servcie. The staff are never satisfied, continually improving the service at the slightest suggestion."
