Walking for charity
July 29, 2009
Eleven members of staff put their best foot (and paw!) forward to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and Have a Heart in a moonlight walk through the streets and meadows of Cambridge.
Eleven members of staff from The Møller Centre joined nearly 700 others to walk 7 miles around the streets and meadows of Cambridge on Friday evening, 24 July. The route started in Trumpington and wound through footpaths along Hobson's Brook to the Muesum of Zoology in central Cambridge where refreshments were on offer. Then the route turned back along the River Cam, via Sharp's Green and Grantchester Meadows.
As it grew darker, tealights and glow sticks in the trees lit the way, providing a magical atmosphere. Entertainment from flame throwers, muscians and chinese lanterns distracted minds from any possible aches and walkers were welcomed over the finish line with bacon butties and hot drinks.
The whole team really enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to next year! Even better, we have raised over £700 for the two charities, Teenage Cancer Trust and Have a Heart. If you would like to sponsor us please go to our Just Giving website.
