Celebrating National Volunteers Week

As Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June) draws to a close it is great to celebrate the fantastic work from the team who get involved here at the Møller Institute.

Each year the Møller team nominate and select a ‘charity of the year’ to support, this year the Møller team decided to continue our support for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, as they were also our charity of the year last year.

Not only do we aim to raise an agreed amount throughout the year but we also encourage our team to volunteer and help make a difference.

Over a number of years our ambassadors have joined in with everything from Santa Runs’, taking gifts to the childrens’ ward at Addenbrookes, baking cakes (always a winner) and helping build and develop skills in local schools.

For our current nominated charity we have seen teams head down to the new hospice at Shelford Bottom and help plant hundreds, if not thousands, of bulbs… which are finally starting to flourish. And we also said goodbye to the festive season with a Christmas Tree Collection.

We have also ‘encouraged’ family members to join in with the marshalling of the Cottenham Yesteryear Road Run which helps encourage the ‘wider’ team to get involved.

We’re lucky to have an inspired bunch of people here at the Møller Institute who all agree that it’s important to ‘give back’… here’s to looking forward to the next year of volunteering and Volunteers’ Week 2018.
